Finally, the day has been decided when the Indian buyers will have a chance to sit behind the wheel of the latest generation Hyundai Elantra, which is schedule for 23rd August, 2016. With the launch of this new variant, consumers will also get to see European’s new styling cues as the car is based on an all new design instead of the earlier Fluidic architecture philosophy. The company has also made some changes across its dimensions that measures 20 mm longer, 25 mm wider and and 20 mm shorter, while the wheelbase is same as the earlier one. After having this modification, it stands at 4570 mm, 1800 mm, 1450 mm and 2700 mm respectively. Moreover, it will arrive in the country under the six generation nameplate and will lock the horns with Volkswagen Jetta, Chevrolet Cruze, Skoda Octavia and others that fit in the same range.
On the mechanical front, the India bound Hyundai Elantra will also come fitted with a brand new 2.0-litre, naturally aspirated, four cylinder petrol engine that is tuned to sprint the car with a power of 147 PS at 6200 rpm along with 180 Nm of torque at 4500 rpm. For diesel motor, the same 1.6-litre CRDi could take place to perform their duties that is capable of generating 130 Bhp of power. In terms of transmission, both engines are expected to be offered with a choice of 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic unit.

The price of this upcoming version is not divulged yet, though it is believed to be laid between INR 15 Lakhs to INR 20 Lakhs (Ex-showroom). However, no such information for the specific trims as well as features has been out through any dealership. As the production of the ongoing model has already been halted, several dealerships have also been offering some attractive discounts in order to lure the customers.
