India-bound Honda Accord Facelift Launched in Malaysia

Honda Motors introduced the Indian-spec 2016 Accord facelift in Malaysia at a starting price of RM 1,45,000 (INR 23.77 Lakh). This new saloon launched in three variants named 2.0-litre VTi, 2.0-litre VTi-L and 2.4-litre VTi-L, and costs RM 5,000 (INR 82,000) less than the previous model.

The Japanese auto major said that beneath the front the car remains unchanged, while the aggressive front end added the boldness to the car. The chrome-finished long bar positioned between the headlamps, gives the breath-taking stance to the car, while at the rear, the new LED tail lamps along with the wider chrome number plate garnish complete the profile.

Inside, the facelift version offers the new wood and piano black theme with the silver accent. Center console gets a touchscreen infotainment system with the wireless connectivity like Apple CarPlay, MirrorLink, HDMI WiFi and Hotspot. The absence of remote engine start/stop feature might disappoint you, while the Thai-specs version comes enabled with it.

On the safety side, the facelifted Accord gets ABS with EBD and brake assist, hill start assist and vehicle stability assist, in order to provide stable driving. For occupants safety, it has six airbags while Honda’s acclaimed LaneWatch blind-spot camera comes with only top end trims i.e. 2.4 VTi-L and 2.0 VTi-L.

Honda Accord’s facelifted version remain unchanged beneath the front-end. The 2.0-litre i-VTEC motor produces the same power and torque output, 155 bhp and 190 Nm respectively. And the powerful 2.4-litre engine churns out the maximum power of 175 bhp in combination with the peak torque of 225 Nm. Both the engines are mated to a 5-speed automatic gearbox.

Well, the 2016 Honda Accord facelift also set to launch in India. The Japanese carmaker has even started accepting the pre-booking for the car, while this premium saloon will enter the showrooms by the next month.
