Sometime earlier, rumours have been doing rounds regarding Honda's upcoming plan of new sub-4 meter SUV, which has now made its appearance. Some images of this new model have been spotted while being tested in South America that has been hinting about its launch in the market. Yet to launch, this car may be christened as WR-V.
Based on the Honda Jazz platform the all-new crossover is likely to make its premiere in November this year. Another premium SUV is also running in the other global market having the similar platform of the Jazz hatch. The car which will be possibly named WR-V is said to be positioned below the HR-V, but it will be slotted above the Honda Jazz hot hatchback.
Under the hood, it will uphold the same powertrain of a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine, generating 118 Bhp of power and 145 Nm of torque that can be seen with the most popular sedan car, Honda City. Moreover, the possible model might also be offered with two different motor choices. One is a 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol, producing 88.75 Bhp of power and 110 Nm of torque. The other one is a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel that is tuned to belt out 99 Bhp of power and 200 Nm of torque.
In terms of transmission option, both the petrol trims can be mated with a five-speed manual or CVT, while the diesel trim is expected to be packed with a six-speed manual unit. Anyway, the launch of this car is far away, but it would be unveiled at the Sao Paulo International Motor Show and later make its way to the Indian car market.
