A couple of days ago, Jaguar F-Pace was listed on the company's official website with more or less specifications including diesel powertrain as well. But now, the rumours are breathing heavily all around that the automaker is thinking to launch the upcoming SUV in the petrol variant at first, though the company hasn’t updated any information about this on its website.
Well, if the media reports turn out to be true then initially the F-Pace will come packed with a 2.0-litre petrol engine, which pumps out 237 Bhp of power and 340 Nm of torque. By looking at the specs, it is almost identical to the one we found in company’s other popular sedan XE. As the car will be brought up here via the CBU (Completely Built Unit) route, it is going to be tagged with a higher price that is expected to be laid around INR 80 Lakhs to 90 Lakhs (Ex-showroom).

Maybe it’s not going to be all correct, but there could be the same Delhi and Kerala diesel ban issue behind the delay of its diesel variant in the country. The specification of the diesel motor includes a 2.0-litre four cylinder and 3.0-litre V6 that are good for 180 PS with 430 Nm of torque and 300 PS along with 700 Nm of torque respectively. In addition, an 8-speed gearbox is mated to both the engines.

When it comes to the rivals, Porsche Macan is the only car that has been running with a similar petrol engine as well as available within the same price bracket. Besides, it will also lock the horns with the likes of BMW X5, and Mercedes GLE that are much popular in the Indian auto segment.
