Nissan has recently showcased the next generation X-Trail at the 2015 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS), which is a famous auto show, showcasing various models every year. This upcoming SUV is going to be introduced in India around the festive season of Diwali. It will be a comeback from the automaker as the previous version was withdrawn due to lack of demands. A lot of features have been added in the interior and exterior portions so as to make it more appealing like the ongoing cars in the market. Premiered in the archipelago previous year, it has been assembled at Cikampek in West Java.
Some of the noticeable changes made to this version include a 'V-Motion' grille, sleek headlights, C-shaped tail lights at the rear end and the twisted D-pillar. Other important facilities like Active Ride Control, LED DRLs and auto headlamps come as standard across the range. Whereas, the top ranging spec will highlight 18- inch wheels and all LED headlamps.
The interior will flaunt leather upholstery, keyless ignition, Around View Monitor, electrically powered front seats, push-button start, dual zone climate control, etc. Equipment that will ensure safety of the occupants include Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), dual airbags at the front portion, ABS, EBD with brake assist, ISOFIX child seat anchors, Active Engine Braking, and Hill Start Assist.
Under the hood, the X-Trail in Indonesia will be available with two engine options including an MR20DD 2 litre, 4-cylinder and a QR25DE 2.5 litre 4-cylinder unit. The former generates 114 PS/200 Nm output and is clubbed with a six-speed manual gearbox as well as an Xtronic CVT. On the other hand, the latter delivers 171 PS/233 Nm and is mated to an Xtronic CVT. Power will be transmitted to the front wheels via an FWD unit rather than an AWD setup. Coming to the Indian version, it is likely to carry a 2 litre DCi engine that will be coupled to a CVT gearbox.
