The renowned automaker Volkswagen has been testing the Polo GTI model on Indian roads for quite sometime now. It has been captured unofficially at various instances hinting towards its arrival in the country in near future. And now, the model has been revealed at Frankfurt Auto Show 2015 with numerous cosmetic updates. This will be a more upgraded and powerful version of the outgoing Polo.

From outside, a revised fascia houses honeycomb mesh pattern grille comprising a red insignia flanked by LED headlights. The front and rear bumper have also been revamped and LED daytime running lights have been fitted as well. There are side skirts, GTI badges and a re-designed rear bumper that contains a tailgate spoiler. Moving inside, seats are covered in fabric upholstery and the cockpit receives a sport steering wheel, sports seats, aluminium pedals and chrome plating on door knobs as well as ac vents.

As opposed to the current model, which is powered by a 1.2 litre turbocharged engine, the new hatchback will be packed with a 1.8 litre, TSI engine. This powertrain will be tuned to churn out maximum output rated at 190 Bhp and 320 Nm. Transmission will be taken care by a six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed DSG unit. The acceleration ability of the hatch will help it to sprint upto 100km/h in just 6.7 seconds, with the top speed reaching to 236 km/h. For the Europe market, it will be offered with a Sport Select suspension system, which allows the driver to change damper settings.
