India-made Harley-Davidson Street 500 has become the third highest seller in Australia among the top 10 motorcycles in the country. Also entitled as XG500, the modern beast, ever since its launch, has been positioned on the top of the list leaving behind other cruiser manufacturers in Australia.
Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries has released the figures stating the company’s sales chart, which manifests the movement of 1175 units of the cruiser from January to September 2016. The data says that Street 500 has been deprived of the second slot because of the Yamaha YZF-R3 by merely 21 units. Holding the first position is the Honda NCB110 with 1824 units.
India-made HD Street 500 and Softail Breakout have taken the brand on top and announced as biggest sellers of the company. The latter took eighth spot in the gross charts.
Despite being an India-made model, Harley-Davidson India does not offer the Street 500 in the range here, however, the elder sibling Street 750 can be taken at a price of INR 4.7 lakh (Ex-showroom, Mumbai).
