Selling of vintage and classic cars is usual across the world mostly in western countries but it is infrequent in India. As most of the purchasers choose to sell by themselves or by classic car network which is flourishing in India or by a private dealer and in Mumbai, there is an auction house namely, Astaguru which will soon host India’s first ever vintage and classic car auction.
The auction will take place online via Astaguru website from November 20, 2018 (10:00 AM) to November 21, 2018 (8:30 PM) which will consist of 10 cars or 10 ‘lots’ (auction terminology).

Astaguru confirmed that India’s first vintage and classic car auction will contain a wide variety of cars from nominal Indian classics like 1960 Hindustan Ambassador Mark 1 to a 1963 Fiat 1100 Super Select to pure classics of International reputation such as 1936 Chrysler Airstream or a 1947 Rolls Royce Silver Wraith.
All the auction cars are owned by private collectors which will be auctioned via the Astaguru auction house. There are also some evergreen classics present in the auction, namely, 1969 Volkswagen Beetle and a Mercedes-Benz 170s.

Other cars which are listed for auctions are - a 1956 Dodge Kingsway, a 1957 Studebaker Commander, a 51 Chevrolet Styleline Deluxe. And at last, the most interesting car that is being auctioned is 1937 Morris 8 Sedan. It is not so important, but it has some real origin which makes it precious because it was owned by M F Hussain.
The concept of online auction is great and I hope that many more such events must be held as the prices of most of these cars are astronomical.
