A team of five members from Indian Army that is known as the ‘Shwet Ashw’ team travelled the distance of 4250km from Bengaluru to Dras, Kargil. Called the ‘Ride to Kargil’ flagged off from Bengaluru on 5th July 2018 on TVS Apache RTR 200 FI 4V Race Edition 2.0 motorcycles, in order to pay tribute to the heroes of the 1999 Kargil War. During this expedition from Bengaluru to Dras, Kargil, the team covered up 4250km distance through eight states in 20 days.
On 25th July, the ‘Shwet Ashw’ team which included team leader Lt. Col Vikram Rajebhosale, Havaldar Jangar Ananda, Naik Shiva Krishna CH, Lance Naik Santosh MK and Lance Naik D Sashikant B, flagged in by Lt. Gen Ranbir Singh at Dras, Kargil. The very next day the Kargil Vijay Diwas was celebrated at the Kargil War Memorial with the families of martyrs and Kargil war heroes. With this expedition, the Shwet Ashw team not only meant to pay homage to the fallen heroes of the war but also to fuel up the young Indian Army with motivation and strengthening brotherhood among the soldiers.
