Indian Motorcycles has announced a recall for its entire Scout range in the USA. in this recall, the motorcycles which are manufactured between 2017 and 2019 are included.
The Scout lineup consists of models like the Scout, Scout Sixty and Scout Bobber. FYI, all the models mentioned here is also available on sale in India. A total of 2,072 units are found affected by a faulty ABS unit, due to used fluids not filled to an appropriate level. This, in turns, filled up with air in the braking system which affects the braking performance of the motorcycle. In order to get rid of the problem, the Indian Motorcycles will bleed the brakes and refill it with fluids to an appropriate level.
If the brake lever or pedal gets spongy and soft, your bike is affected with the issue. Currently, the issue has been recalled in the USA while there are no official words regarding such an issue in the Indian market. Still, one can check their Indian Scout bike for the issues at their nearest dealerships and rectify it.
