Along with the cars at the show, the Paris even also displaying some latest engine technology as well. The JLR is the newest with its much talked Ingenium engine technology based on the modular architecture and made by using Aluminum. The company has built it from the start and this engine will now be featuring in most of the Jaguar cars starting from the Jaguar XE. There would be both petrol and diesel fuel options available for it with 4-Cylinder configuration by default. However, the engine could be modified any time by adding more cylinders to it.

This newly developed engine has the similar cylinder blocks with equal space, bore length, stroke and displacement of 500cc as well. The blocks are compact and very light due to the aluminum used in them and thus making it more feasible to the addition or modification of the engine by adding more cylinders to it, whenever required. And, the cars will shed nearly 80 KG weight with this new engine family.

The first Ingenium engine family car will be Jaguar XE, having the 2.0 Litre 4-Cylinder diesel engine with two options of 163PS power / 380 torque and 180 PS power / 380 Nm torque. And, the petrol engine will have the 200 PS power / 280 Nm and 240 PS power / 340 Nm torque with the same 4-Cylinders.
