Jaguar XE Displayed at Make in India Event

After launching the Jaguar XE at the Delhi Auto Expo 2016, the automaker has showcased the sedan at the ongoing Make in India event in Mumbai. Much like the Volkswagen, which has displayed it Ameo sedan, Jaguar Land Rover is also apparently supporting the Make in India campaign. It is an initiative by the Indian government to ensure a large amount of foreign investments so as to make things favourable for our economy. The Jaguar XE will be assembled locally at the company's facility located in Pune, just like the XF and XJ models.

In terms of cosmetics, it carries a signature radiator mesh grille, sweptback headlamps integrated with J-shaped daytime running lights, wide air intake, prominent wheel arches, multi-spoke and stylish alloys, fender vents and wrap around tail lamps. The cabin of the car flaunts a leather wrapped dashboard with a fresh layout. It includes a 2-pod unit instrument cluster, three-spoke muti-function steering wheel borrowed from F-Type, Multi-information display, 8-inch InControl Touch infotainment system with touchscreen interface and much more.

At the launch of XE, Jaguar had invited Actor Katrina Kaif, which grabbed a lot of attention during the event. The car has been priced at INR 39.90 Lacs and goes up to INR 46.50 Lacs. As of now, it is being offered in only petrol version, that is fitted with a 2 litre unit. This motor makes power in 2 states- 197Bhp and 240Bhp, which is transmitted to the wheels via an 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox accompanied by paddle shifters.
