Jawa 350 Special, Homage to Company’s Racing Heritage Unveiled in Europe

Jawa 350 Special that is a tribute to Czech manufacturer’s racing heritage has been showcased in Europe. It is the third Jawa motorcycle followed by Jawa 350 OHC and the 660 Vintage. Crafted amazingly, the Jawa 350 Special features round headlamp, full fairing, retro colour scheme along with up-swept exhaust pipes. Furthermore, there is the use of chrome and the rear gets a complete cafe racer outlook with a flat seat and a rear cowl.

In terms of powertrain, the 350 Special is laden with a 397 cc parallel-twin engine. The mill is capable of generating the peak power of 27.6 bhp at 6,500 rpm and transmitting 30.6Nm at 5,000 rpm to the rear wheel via a mated gearbox transmission. The powertrain in question is developed by Chinese brand Shinary and also being used in the Jawa 350 OHC. Where the incorporated fuel injection system is sourced from Delhi.

Weighs at 171kgs, the 350 Special offers the fuel tank capacity of 17-litres. It is 11kg heavier than the 350 OHC. the motorcycle complies with Euro IV emission norms and comes featured with the advanced safety of ABS. Expectations suggest the models like the 660 Vintage, the 350 OHC and the 350 Special could hit the Indian ground under the umbrella of Mahindra. Furthermore, there could also be a motorcycle rolled out via Jawa yet be developed on the Mahindra Mojo platform.

For you reminisce, Mahindra has a 60 percent stake in Classic Legends Private Limited, the company that owns BSA and has an exclusive brand license agreement with Jawa in particular countries. As per the announcement made by Mahindra during stake purchase of the above-mentioned company, it will bring Jawa Motorcycles in India by 2019.

With the Jawa Motorcycles, Mahindra would try to have a bite in the market share of Royal Enfield. But, it would not be that easy, if the rolled out motorcycles from Jawa will not be priced aggressively.
