Since the debut of Jeep in the Indian automobile segment, the brand has become quite a sensation among the buyers. Owned by Fiat Chrysler, Jeep had first displayed its model at earlier concluded 2016 Auto Expo with Wrangler and Cherokee, which are still missing their presence in the country. For now, another popular variant in global market, Jeep Renegade has been spied testing in India that has reportedly imported for the homologation purpose.

When you will get a closer look, you will see that the car is badged with a number plate of Maharasthra. As the engineering mule was highly disguised, we don\'t have had any information yet. Even, Jeep has also kept their lips bound and hasn\'t revealed anything about its arrival in the showroom. However, when it will be launched in India, it will lock the horns with Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta and Nissan Terrano.

When it comes to power, the model is powered by a 1.4-litre and 2.4-litre diesel engine internationally, while the India based model comes with a 2.0-litre four cylinder diesel engine. The power specification of the latter include two state of tune i.e 138 Bhp and 168 Bhp. Yet to be confirmed, the engine could be mated to either a 6-speed manual and a 9-speed automatic transmission unit, which currently underpins the international models respectively.
