Fiat Chrysler's famous off-roader brand Jeep is reportedly going to make a grand entry in India this year with three products. Though, the brand was planning to launch these vehicles in 2013, but due to some price related issues, it got delayed. These cars namely Grand Cherokee, Grand Cherokee SRT and Wrangler Unlimited will be displayed at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo and then will be launched by the mid of the year. Jeep has even activated its official website and other social media platforms in order to make the audience aware about the upcoming launches.
Let's take a look at these soon-to-arrive Jeep vehicles one by one:
It is equipped with a 6.4 litre V8 motor that is tuned to generate 475Bhp of maximum power and a peak torque of 64.2 kg of torque. The acceleration capability enables the Cherokee to sprint upto 100 km/h from standstill in just 5 seconds. It stands on 20-inch Black Vapour Chrome SRT alloys wrapped in Pirelli tyres. The fascia is adorned with a pair of bi-xenon headlamps with blackened headlight inserts. In order to provide better fuel economy, the Eco Mode shuts down 4 cylinders of the engine.
Moving inside, there is a use of Suede upholstery and unique leather on the seats along with carbon fibre acccents on the dashboard. Other interior features include 7-inch TFT Driver's display, flat bottomed steering wheel with paddle shifters, 8.4-inch Unconnect touchcreen infotainment system, seat mounted DVD player and 19 speakers with Harmon Kardon sound system. Expected to be priced around INR 1.4 Crores, this car will compete with BMW X5 M.
This model will be available in top spec Summit trim and is fitted with a host of features on the exterior and interior portions. From outside, the list of equipments include 20-inch alloy wheels, bi-xenon headlamps, electric tailgate, etc. The cabin flaunts fitments like heated and ventilated seats, satellite navigation, parking sensors, keyless entry, 2 USB slots for rear passengers, panormaic sunroof and much more. The engine contains 3 litre diesel unit that is good enough to produce 237Bhp and is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

Last but not the least, Wrangler will arrive in the market with a 4-door version with a long wheelbase. The Indian spec version is completely rugged yet appealing that carries a lot of charachter in it. Powertrain consists of a 2.8 litre diesel motor that makes 197Bhp of maximum power that is mated to a 5-speed automatic gearbox. The expected price tag for Wrangler is around INR 40 Lacs for the Indian market.
