Kaptur Based Renault Crossover to Come in India

The Indian auto market is going to welcome a new crossover from Renault that will be positioned above the much popular model of the company, Duster. Christened as Kaptur, the vehicle made its roll-call with the first teaser image, which has just been released by the brand. The design cues are looking so much identical to the Renault Captur that currently runs in the European market.

As per the reports available, it is supposed to be introduced with another name instead of using this Kaptur, while the codename has been rumoured as an 'HHA'. Thanks to spied image that shows some features about this new car such as a longer wheelbase to create greater space in the cabin. The information about its launch in India is not clear yet, but it could arrive soon after the release in Brazil.

Under the hood, the new Renault Crossover is expected to carry the 1.5-litre diesel engine, which could be coupled to either a five-speed or a six-speed manual as well as a six-speed AMT Easy-R single clutch automatic gearbox options. Moreover, the all wheel drive option would also be listed in the features list. Well, all the details are mentioned at a wild guess that can be confirmed in near future.

Apart from the above news, Renault is planning to offer a new engine with its popular Kwid entry level hatch back. The company will release this new 1.0-litre petrol engine in the Indian market by June this year.
