Kawasaki is all geared to launch the KX250F in its Indian dirt bike line up in the near future. With the emergence of this newbie, the existing line-up will strengthen and serve an improved market share in the motocross segment in the country.
Presently, the Indian arm of the Kawasaki, is selling the KLX110, small child oriented dirt bike from the last year. But now in order to establish its strong feet in this motocross segment, which has a lot of roam to expand. To induce the motocross fever and offering a robust motocross bike legally to the enthusiasts, the auto maker has already brought in five KX250F bikes via CBU channel all the way from Japan.
As the KX250F missed out all the mandatory featuring to be a road legal, as a headlamp, tail light and turn indicators. In spite of that, Kawasaki did not show any interest in bringing the bike for homologation process. So, it might be interesting to see that the bike would make out to be sold legally in the country or not.
On mechanical perspective, the KX250F dirt bike is packed with a single-cylinder, 250cc engine, that is in association with a five speed transmission for transmitting the churned power to the rear wheel. Suspension set is consist of 48mm upside-down sperate function forks upfront with Showa and a rear placed monoshock, with the preload adjustment. To decelerate the bike, the bikemaker has equipped this 104kg light weighted motorcycle with a 270mm disc with dual-piston calliper at the front wheel, whereas rear wheel has a single 240mm disc with single-calliper integration.
Expected to launch on 18 December, 2016 along with the KX100, the said motorcycle is likely to fall in the price bucket of Rs 3.5 lakh to Rs 3.8 lakh (ex-showroom Pune).
