Kawasaki Z900-
The Kawasaki Z900 is an aggressive street monster, based on a newly developed lightweight trellis frame. Design-wise, it shares design language from its legendary Z1 and the GPz900R siblings. A bits of offered accessories such as a windscreen and a rear cowl would help the potential buyer in an easy transformation from naked runner to an adventure tourer.Underneath the fuel tank, the 2017 Z900 is loaded with an inline 4 948cc engine which belts out 123.6 hp of power at 9500 rpm and 98.6 Nm of torque at 7700 rpm. A 41 mm inverted forks with adjustable preload and rebound and a preload adjustable rear mono shock will take care of suspension duties. Whereas, the stopping power will come from the 300mm dual discs up front and a 250 mm single disc at the rear. ABS is also being offered as a standard fitment. The Kawasaki Z900 will be available in the Indian market via CBU route all the way from Thailand.
Kawasaki Z650-
The Kawasaki Z650 is the next model in the same naked street motorcycle category. It is a successor of the existing ER-6N model in the Indian lineup, which in terms of design is influenced from the ‘Sugomi’ design philosophy that is evident on the Z1000 .Powered by a parallel twin Euro IV-compliant engine, the 2017 Kawasaki Z650 uses the churn power of 68bhp to propel the bike with the aids of mated six-speed gearbox that is in association with an assist and slipper clutch for a seamless transmission. Suspension duties are under the care of a 41mm telescopic forks up front along with a rear monoshock with adjustable preload.
The disc brakes equipment at the both wheel with ABS integration offers a precise stopping for the naked runner.
Ninja 650-
The 2017 Kawasaki Ninja 650 is the upgraded version of the last going, which has been altered for an improved styling and weight reduction. So, in order to attain these goals, the bike maker has not only redesigned a few components like fuel tank, swingarm and wheels but also followed the Ninja ZX-10R styling cues to boost its sportier appeal. The concerned powertrain is the same old 649cc parallel-twin engine, but it has been retuned to comply BS-IV emission norms and to provide low and mid-range torque. Owing to this tuning, the Ninja 650’s power churn has been reduced to 69bhp from 71bhp, but as the company claims fuel efficiency has been improved to 6.8 percent more than the earlier model. Apart from this, the motorcycle is also being armed with the top end features of slipper clutch and ABS as standard.
Ninja 300-
If talks about this second yet less powerful motorcycle in the offered sports bike category, the 2017 Ninja 300 did not receive any mechanical updates other than a BS-IV compliant engine. However, on cosmetic front a few updates has been noticed such as new and more sportier graphics stickers and a new-for-India grab rail for pillion companion. On a sad note, the top end ABS safety feature is not provided in this latest update too.
Versys 650-
A sole adventure tourer motorcycle in the launched 2017 range of Kawasaki motorcycles, the new Versys 650 is only been altered at cosmetic front. The motorcycle has been painted in a new flashy/ black paint scheme. Apart from this, the 2017 Versys 650 has also got a trendy instrument cluster which showcases gear position. On mechanical end, same old 649cc parallel twin engine that is bolted on a tubular steel frame, powers the Versys 650. Mated to a six-speed gearbox transmission, the engine spits out 68bhp of power and 68Nm of torque. Suspension setup comprises ofan adjustable 41mm Showa inverted front forks and an offset KYB rear monoshock with adjustable preload whereas, the braking is being handled by the dual 300mm discs at the front and a single 250mm petal disc at the rear, with an ABS integration as standard.
