The Japanese giant, Kawasaki, is the first one to introduce a supercharged motorcycle, Ninja H2 for the motoring aficionado of the world. The supercharger system was developed from the scratch by the Kawasaki and placed on the track oriented, highly premium bikes Ninja H2 and Ninja H2R, that contains the higher price tags. As per the statement of the Kawasaki President Kenji Tomida at the EICMA 2015 in Milan, that the used supercharged engine technology of the Ninja H2 was always meant to be scalable to suit other application. The statement tends to anticipate a reduced displacement engine approx 800cc in-line four engine in the new supercharged motorcycle, Ninja R2 to deliver the power output of 190PS and torque around 110Nm as similar to the litre-class motorcycles. The body weight will also be minimized due to the reduction of engine displacement and it will help in improving the performance of the under development Ninja R2.
The styling aspects of the supercharged 800cc Kawasaki Ninja R2 is likely to be borrowed from the Ninja H2 with slight touch of the updated Ninja 300\'s design which is moving towards the production stage soon. The titles R2 and R2R has also been trademarked by the Kawasaki in Japan that gave the indication of the higher performance version of the R2 as the Ninja H2R in future.
However the supercharged Ninja R2 is in the development stage and expected to make its first appearance globally at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2017. We can also hope its entry to the Indian land also, after its launch globally.
