Kawasaki Motors India has launched the all new quarter-liter sports motorcycle in India. The motorcycle is named as Kawasaki Z250 and it is equipped with the lowest engine displacement in company's portfolio. The Z250 is the newly joined member after Z1000 and Z800 in the Z-Series family available in India. The newly launched quarter-liter motorcycle is now available carrying most affordable price tag, i.e. Rs 2.99 Lacs (Ex-Showroom Delhi). However, the motorcycle belongs to the Z-Series family but has received some features from the Kawasaki Ninja 300 as well.
The Kawasaki Z250 gets its power from liquid-cooled, parallel-twin, fuel-injected engine. The 249cc displacement engine churns out a total power of 31.5 BHP @ 11,000 revs and 21 Nm of peak torque @ 10,000RPM. The DOHC power plant is mated to a 6-speed transmission. The firm has added high quality suspension to provide better riding quality. The front wheel gets telescopic forks and the rear is assembled with Bottom-Link-Unitrak gas charged shocks incorporated with 5-way adjustable preloaded. The stopping power has been taken care by dual disc semi-floating at the front and single petal disc at the rear.

The Kawasaki Z250 features an aggressive looks complemented with sharp and edgy design. The styling features somewhat shows a replica of Kawasaki Z800 and Ninja 250R (discontinued). This naked street motorcycle has made its appearance as the most affordable quarter-liter motorcycle carrying features like headlight cowl, fuel tank design and the rear view mirrors similar to Z800. Apart from that, the Z250 shares its rear section, exhaust tail pipe and alloy wheels with the Ninja 300.
The Kawasaki Z250 will be available in only one single color and sold out at the pro-biking showrooms. The motorcycle will bring to the Indian shores via the CKD route. The one and only disappointing thing is that you will be missing ABS in the quarter-liter motorcycle. The newly launched naked street motorcycle will be directly competing with the upcoming Yamaha R25, Honda CBR300R and existing KTM RC 200.
