If you are looking to buy an in-line four-cylinder engined motorcycle, then I suggest you to wait till the month of March, 2015. As, the Kawasaki has recently made an announcement to diminish the prices of its products in the Indian portfolio. The newly introduced street-fighter motorcycle, Kawasaki Z800, has its name on the top of the list carrying a discount of Rs 55,000. The firm has decided to slash down the prices of its products due to the hike in the excise duty. And, this hike results in the price increase of various other products from major automobile manufacturers.
The Kawasaki Z800 will be making its availability carrying a discount price of Rs 55,000 and this will bring down the overall price to Rs 7.35 Lacs (Ex-Showroom Pune). The new price tag of the Z800 has made it the most affordable 800cc sports motorcycles in India. Currently, the manufacturer is offering various sports motorcycle models such as Kawasaki Z1000, Ninja 1000, Versys 1000, Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R and Ninja ZX-14R. All these higher engines sports motorcycles bring down to the country via the CBU route. The small engined motorcycles such as Kawasaki Z250 and Ninja 300 are only locally manufactured at the Bajaj's Chakan Plant, Pune.

The Kawasaki Z800 is an in-line four-cylinder engined sports motorcycle carrying a liquid-cooled motor configuration. The 806cc displaced engine is tuned to churn out a bursting power of 111BHP and a peak torque of 83Nm. The claimed top speed achieved by the Kawasaki Z800 is 230 KMPH and it can achieve a maximum speed of 100 KMPH by pulling the throttle in just 3.5 seconds. The closest competitor of the aforementioned sports motorcycle is the Triumph Street Triple. But, the major downside of the Triumph Street Triple is that the firm has offered less powered engine for the Indian product portfolio, i.e. a de-tuned version.
