2019 Kawasaki Z900 Launched for INR 7.68 Lakh (ex-showroom, India)

Kawasaki has updated the Z900 with 2019 Model Year updates. Revived in its new avatar the streetfighter receives new colour schemes with striking graphics work across the body. These new colour options are pearl flat stardust white / metallic spark black, metallic moondust grey / ebony, and metallic flat spark black / metallic spark black. Also, the replaced new number ‘900’ sticker for the earlier ‘Z’ logo on fuel tank and rear section’s adorns contrast well with the suggested new colour choices.

Out of three, two colour options the pearl flat stardust white / metallic spark black and metallic flat spark black / metallic spark black colour options underpinned cycle parts like the chassis in green with black alloy wheels. While, the sportiest of all the moondust grey/ebony colour variant, has mechanicals in red. Altogether, the green giant manufacturer will roll out the limited counts of this racy sports variant.

Beneath the fuel tank, 2019 Z900 retains the similar powertrain from the outgoing model. The 948cc in-line, four-cylinder motor is capable of generating the maximum power of 125PS along with the peak torque of 98.6Nm. This equipped engine unit makes the motorcycle one of the quickest available middleweight naked performances in the Indian-two wheeler market. It is the second quickest and beaten only by the Triumph Street Triple which has an acceleration of 0-100kmph in just 3.59 seconds as compared to former’s 3.7 seconds sprint time.

Kawasaki motorcycles which are renowned to be the most advanced bikes in a bid of equipped electronics and technological aspects, 2019 Z900 misses out the traction control and riding modes. However, the rider’s aids such as the ABS and slipper clutch is being offered as standard fitment.

In its category, the 2019 Kawasaki Z900 that retails at INR 7.68 Lakh, locks horns with the opponents such as the Yamaha MT-09 (Rs 10.39 lakh), Triumph Street Triple S (Rs 9.19 lakh), Ducati 797 (Rs 8.03 lakh) and the newly launched Suzuki GSX-S750 (Rs 7.45 lakh) (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
