KTM Duke 800 Spied For the First Time, Might Be Manufactured in India

Last year, during the launch of RC390 and RC200 in India, the president and CEO of KTM- Stefan Pierer had hinted that the company will introduce a middleweight Twin-cylinder engined (based on 500 and 800cc) motorcycle in the coming time. And, here comes the proof, the twin-cylinder middleweight motorcycle, Duke 800, spotted first time that will be launched by the couple of upcoming years. The spy shots of the motorcycle have been published in the German Motorrad magazine. Moreover, the Austrian motorcycle maker might be unveiled Duke 800 at EICMA show that will be held in November 2015.

As per the spy shots, the KTM Duke 800 retains sharp and edgy design language from its Duke models. The motorcycle is featured with a triangular and tapered headlight that looks very identical to the Duke series. The minimal body carries the radiator grille and new twin-cylinder motor, while it is likely to be featured with Trellis frame. The suspension duties will be taken care of by a WP inverted telescopic forks at the front and monoshock at the rear, while the braking will be provided by twin discs at the front and a single disc that is seen at the rear. The motorcycle will be featured with dual-channel Anti-lock Braking System.

The technical details of the motorcycle are unknown, but the new Duke will feature with an all-new twin-cylinder motor that will likely be produced 100 PS of power and will be mated to a six-speed transmission. Furthermore, the Duke 800 will feature an array of components that are LED tail light, step seats, wide handlebar, side mounted exhaust, LED blinkers and five spoke alloy wheels.

The new bike is likely to be manufactured and exported from Bajaj's Chakan based facility in India. The cost of the motorcycle will be very impressive as it to be cost around INR 5-6 lakh. Till then, stay tuned with SAGMart to know more about the upcoming information about KTM 800.
