Land Rover has finally launched the new Discovery Sport in the Indian automobile market at the price tag of INR 46.10 Lacs, ex-showroom. With this launch, four variants have been introduced namely- S, SE, HSE and HSE Luxury. It is the first vehicle in its segment to carry a 7-seat configuration and is loaded with several advanced amenities. This model had been gaining a lot of attention from the audience lately, which is evident from the fact that within just 5 days of announcing the bookings, the automaker received more than 200 orders for this SUV. Its production will take place at company's plant located at Chakan, Pune.
Dimensionally it measures 4,599 mm long, 2,173 mm wide and 1,724 mm tall along with 2,741 mm of wheelbase. Its masculine grille, sleek headlamps, integrated spoiler and unique tail lights impart an aggressive look to this premium vehicle.
The top ranging variant will flaunt a panoramic roof top, 17 Speaker Meridian sound system and Park Assist along with rear parking camera. For safety, various advanced features will be offered, like Roll Stability Control (RSC), Hill Descent Control (HDC) and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC).
As far as the mechanical configuration is concerned, a 2.2 litre diesel motor will be fitted under the hood. This unit is capable enough to pump out maximum power output of 147 Hp and a peak torque of 187 Hp. Engine will be mated to a nine-speed automatic gearbox that in turn is linked to an AWD set up. The base spec trim will offer a mileage of 12.83 km/l, while the top end trim will be delivering 12.97 km/l of fuel efficiency.
