Lexus NX 300h Launched in India; Price Starts at INR 53.18 lakh

On a happy note, Lexus India is going to end this year with the newly launched the NX 300h that is being offered in two variants. The entry-level ‘Luxury’ variant is priced at INR 53.18 lakh while the top end F-Sport variant comes tagged with the price sticker of INR 55.58 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom). The bookings for the SUV is underway whereas the deliveries for the same will begin next year in the month of March.

At the launch event while announcing the price of the new Lexus NX 300h, Akitoshi Takemura, President, Lexus India, said, "Keeping in mind our young guests, we have priced the NX 300h at an attractive price point. The design and engineering of this vehicle absolutely delights and now the pricing will excite a whole new category of guests in India. Our price approach for the NX 300h is in accord with Government\'s vision and we call it \'one nation, one price\' making it advantageous for our guests. Keeping in mind the NX 300h\'s launch price, this is indeed the most opportune time to acquire a Lexus."

Competitively priced than its other siblings in the lineup, the Lexus NX 300h is powered by a 2.5-litre four-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine in association with an electric motor. Mated to an electronically controlled CVT unit and an e-AWD (electric All-Wheel-Drive) system, the engine develops the combined power of 194 bhp. The vehicle comes with the capability to run with pure electric or petrol or a combination of both. As certified by ARAI, the NX 300h returns the fuel efficiency of 18.32 kmpl.

Apparently, the new Lexus NX 300h follows the futuristic and sharp design language of the modern Lexus cars available in Indian lineup. The front fascia comes adorned with the company\'s signature Lexus grille and the logo with a blue backlight that reveals the hybrid nature of the SUV. Other than this, there are LED headlamps and independent LED daytime running lamps below them. The side profile gets the flared wheel arches with plastic cladding, side skirts, and roof rails as well. While the rear is fabricated with sharp wraparound LED tail lamps, a rear diffuser, and a roof-mounted spoiler.

The cabin of the SUV is spacious and comfortable even for the rear passengers that allows the rear seat adjustability of reclining and folding flat just with a push of a button. Furnished with smart leather upholstery, the SUV offers a panoramic glass roof, wireless charging, heads-up display and a 10.3-inch multi-information touchscreen system to access various facilities given by the carmaker including the audio, climate and navigation system.

Other features that are check-marked by the carmaker for India-bound model comprising 8-way power adjustable and ventilated front seats, dual-zone independent climate control, drive mode select (eco, normal, sport, sport +, custom), rain sensing wipers and more. The features that are offered the occupants safety encompasses 8 SRS airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic parking brakes, vehicle stability control, hill start assist, 360-degree panoramic view monitor and a rearview camera with back guide monitor as well.

The Lexus NX 300h will mark its entry in the Indian market all the way through CBU route. It will go into competition with the likes of Mercedes-Benz GLC, BMW X3, Audi Q5, Volvo XC60 and the Range Rover Evoque. As of now, the hybrid SUV is only available at the Lexus dealerships in cities such as Mumbai, New Delhi, Gurgaon, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kochi, and Bangalore.
