Mercedes is busy in giving noticeable refreshment to its SLK roadster for some international markets and now, it comes with four cylinder engines. Additionally, few variants of this vehicle will include the choice of a 9-speed automatic transmission system. The SLK 200 would get a latest turbo powered M274 petrol engine and this 2.0 litre engine promises to generate an appreciable power of 181 bhp. Interestingly, the largest German luxury car maker claimed that the runabout will have the capacity to be accelerated from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.9 seconds that results in 0.4 seconds quicker speed as compared to its predecessor.

Moreover, the SLK 250 has been replaced by the SLK 300, which is powered by an identical engine as the very first variant described in the first paragraph, while it believes to churn out maximum power of 242 bhp. The powertrain will be mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox for transferring the produced power to its wheels. In just 5.8 seconds, this version can achieve a spectacular speed of 100 km/h from a standstill position. Coming to the diesel variant, the SLK 250d with a 2.2 litre turbo diesel engine replaces the SLK 250 CDI and good for producing 201 bhp of superb outputs.

This variant is also paired to a 9-speed automatic transmission system. On the other hand, Mercedes offers urea injection technology in the roadster to reduce emission levels. Notably, the SLK 350 and 55 AMG are powered by the same V6 3.5 litre petrol mill and a 5.5 litre naturally aspirated drivetrain.
