Mahindra Scorpio S9 has been launched in India at the price Rs 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), and it is more cost-effective than S11 variant containing all the features at par.
There is no change in the engine of Scorpio S9 and features a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel mill which produces 320Nm of torque and 140hp. It comes coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission with a four-wheel drive system provided only on the top-spec S11 trim.
Internally, the kit of Scorpio S9 is almost the same as the S11 variant. In Scorpio S9, there are multiple features including automatic climate control, cornering projector headlamps, a 5.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, dual airbags with ABS, ORVMs with integrated turn indicators and audio and cruise control buttons on the steering wheel.
Although the Mahindra Scorpio is unrivalled to any of the SUV available in India but still considering the Indian market, the Mahindra Scorpio will compete with the rivals Tata Hexa. Mahindra & Mahindra is going to launch its flagship Alturas SUV later in November and in 2019, it will launch S201 compact SUV.
