Mahindra has recently launched the Thar adventure series in South Africa. As far as Indian shores are concerned, the made-in-India Mahindra Thar Adventure series comes with a bucket list of off-road add-ons.
The new top-of-the-line Thar Adventure series recently showcased in South Africa also house a 2.5 litre, CRDe engine. As far as the exterior styling is concerned, the Adventure series Thar gets a unique front bumper with LED lights from Bundu Gear aiming to enhance the SUVs 44-degree angle approach. The bumper of the Adventure series Thar also gets an integrated bull bar. The rock slider on each side, bright colored tow points and a snorkel also comes as a standard in the new Adventure Thar range cars. Adding to this, a new rear bumper with visible recovery points was also spotted along with a tow bar in new Adventure Thar.
A removable hardtop canopy sourced from Getac along with a normal canvas top was also found to be present on the Thar adventure series vehicles. To give a more appealing look, the new Adventure series also comes with stylish alloy wheels, which are also all-terrain, in order to deliver a powerful off-road performance.

A Borg-Warner 4x4 system that allows for a shift on the fly is also integrated into the Adventure Thar series launched in South Africa. Talking about the car mechanics, a standard mechanical differential lock in rear and auto locking front hubs is also present in this SUV.
As far as driving comfort is concerned, the standard variant from Thar Adventure series comes up with air-conditioning, power steering, front cup holders, and 12V power socket. In the African market, the Adventure Thar series SUV also is available in three different colour options-Rocky Beige, Red Rage or DSAT Silver.

As of writing this news, there is no official word from the company sources regarding the India launch of Thar Adventure series. Currently, Mahindra & Mahindra is engaged in developing the next-generation Thar, and it is expected to hit the Indian roads by 2020. A new 2.0-litre diesel engine is also expected in the next-generation Thar. This new powertrain will also be BS-VI compliant keeping the 2020 deadline in mind related to new emission standards for the auto sector.
Talking about car performance, the next-gen Thar will be capable of delivering a better driving experience and passenger comfort owing to the enhanced front suspension setup. The expected next-generation Thar model in India can be seen in Mahindra showrooms sometime in 2020.
