Mahindra has launched yet another powerful variant of the existing TUV300 model in the country at Rs 8.87 lakh, while the top end is priced at Rs 9.60 lakh (ex-showroom prices). The new variant looks similar to the regular model but underneath lies a more powerful and efficient engine. Unlike the regular model that comes powered by an mHawk80 unit, this new variant siblings gets powered by an mHawk100 engine, which is claimed to propel a maximum power output of 102hp followed by a peak torque of 240Nm.
The mHawk100 engine is said to the same engine that power the newly launched Mahindra NuvoSport. Moreover, In terms of the displacement, the engine is similar to the old mHawk80 engine that displaces 1,498cc with 3 cylinders. But, some major changes have been made to the calibration which ensures better power output. It comes paired to either a 5-speed manual transmission or an AMT gearbox.
As of now, the 102hp delivering TUV300 will be sold alongside the former sibling 85hp TUV300. Both the variants feature large rear seat cushion, which assures better comfort level to the rear occupants. No other changes have been found in the design counterpart. It has been seen has Mahindra takes the customers feedback very seriously and this thing prompted the carmaker to introduce the new powerful variant, which might be appreciated by the consumers.
The major area where the mHawk80 loaded TUV300 lacked was the heavy 1,600 kg weight, making it quite slow. It took around 20 seconds to sprint 0-100 kph.
