Mahindra is working on a new compact SUV which has been seen testing many times on the roads. Till now, the vehicle was wearing a camouflage but now a style and manner in which the car would look has been revealed. Mahindra’s new SUV will be based on the current XUV 500 and shares a lot of stuff from that one. The car is code named as S101 and as it shares a lot of things from XUV 500, it could also get a name XUV 300.
This car will be getting petrol and diesel engines. These engines designed for the cars will also include 3 cylinder and 4 cylinder housings. The engine which is currently powering Mahindra Quanto could make its place in the new car. Mahindra is working on this car with the help of Ssangyong. The new vehicle will fit inside the sub 4 meter category and hence will benefit in the excise duties. Quanto’s engine could get some sort of tuning which will be more economical than now. Apart from engine, the S101 will get all major safety aspects as ABS, Airbags, ESP, power steering, power windows etc.
