Since December last year, Delhi automobile sector has been witnessing continuous decreasing sales graph due to the ban on registration of diesel vehicles, which have a displacement of above 2000 cc. Where all the other carmakers have been trying to deal with this giant issue, Mahindra and Mahindra has already been made its maze. Earlier, we had celebrated the launch of 1.99L Scorpio and 1.99L XUV500 in NCR region. As the company doesn’t want to leave any stone unturned it has also introduced automatic variants of the 1.99-litre XUV500 in Delhi.
Available in W6, W8 and W10 trim, these will go on sale at the price of INR 14.51 Lakhs, INR 15.94 Lakhs and INR 17.32 Lakhs respectively (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi). Moreover, a fully electric car e-Verito has also been released in Delhi at the price of INR 9.5 Lakhs (Ex-showroom).

Talking about the powertrain in depth, it has a displacement of 1997 that is based on the mHawk engine and downsized form of 2.2-litre engine. With this new arrangement, the motor is capable of generating 140 Bhp of power and 320 Nm of torque. Along with manual unit, an automatic transmission is also present there to help the motor for sending power to the wheels.
It is expected that Mahindra may reveal the 1.99 versions of the XUV500 in the other states where the government is thinking to ban diesel vehicles. Kerala is the state, where the government had recently restricted the new registration on diesel cars as well as NGT (National Green Tribunal) had banned light and heavy diesel vehicles which have been existing for more than 10 years.
