Maruti Baleno Receives More Than 40,000 Orders in India

It has been less than 40 days since the launch of Maruti Baleno and the car has already registered itself in the list of top selling models in Indian car bazaar. By November mid, the company claimed to receive 21,000 orders and some recent reports suggest that Baleno is getting 1,000 bookings per day on an average that has crossed the 40,000 figure till now. This premium hatch was launched in the country on October 26 at the retail price of INR 4.99 Lacs (ex-showroom). From pricing to the features, everything is impressive, which is quite evident from the stats.

Even though, the Baleno resembles a lot to the Swift model, the former is 100 kg lighter and is fitted with numerous wow factors. The top ranging variants include HID headlamps, LED DRLs, 16-inch alloys, smart entry with push start button, Smartplay entertainment system with Bluetooth and navigation, automatic climate control, Apple CarPlay and reverse camera. These features are usually not available at such an affordable price tag. Moreover, the availability of safety equipments like ABS, EBD and dual front airbags as standard facility is yet another plus point in Baleno.

Mechanically, the premium hatch is fitted with both petrol and diesel motors that consist of a 1.2 litre K Series and a 1.2 litre DDiS unit. The former makes 84.3 PS/115Nm of maximum output, whereas the latter is able to generate a maximum output measuring 75PS/190Nm.

Power is transmitted to the wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox alongside a CVT unit that is found in the petrol variant. The car is available for sale exclusively at the Nexa outlets and is definitely giving a tough fight to the likes of VW Polo, Honda Jazz and Hyundai Elite i20.
