Maruti Suzuki launched its Celerio last year and yet to date, this runabout is on the same peak of popularity as it was introduced for the first time in the movie, “Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya”. Now, the car maker is all set to increase the demand for this vehicle by acquainting it once again in diesel variant in India with slightly cosmetic changes. From the aesthetic point of view, the upcoming version is almost similar to its present model, excluding some latest features, such as DdiS badging for front wheel arches and Ldi/VDi/ZDi for the rear view. Moreover, the updated Celerio will not be available alongside an AMT gearbox at the beginning.
This diesel version has been spotted testing various times and probably to be launched in April 2015, while its exact date of appearance is yet to be finalized. Reportedly, It is likely to be powered by a new 800cc three cylinder diesel engine, which seems to pump out a standard power of 70 bhp as well as an impressive torque of 175 Nm that would be coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission doing duty beneath the skin. This existing vehicle is anticipated to continue its prominence for a very long time via the forthcoming diesel version comprising energetic performance with new designing components.
After making demonstration in the automobile market, the new Celerio will give a direct impedance to Chevrolet Beat oil burner model and might get extra range between INR 50,000 to INR 70,000 as compared to the current one.
