As we have already informed you that Maruti Suzuki has introduced safety features like ABS and dual front airbags as optional facility in the Swift and Dzire models. Now, some more reports suggest that the automaker has added these in the Celerio model too. All the trims in the range have been equipped with the ABS and front airbags, whereas the CNG version is now updated with only the airbags package. Besides these, the Wagon R and Wagon R Stingray have also got a similar kind of treatment. It looks like Maruti doesn't want any compromises on the safety front.

As per an official statement by Mr R S Kalsi, “Through Celerio we have always tried to offer the best to customers. By offering safety features like airbags for driver and co-driver, and Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) from the base variant onwards in Celerio, we are making it more attractive for customers. I am happy that we are able to offer these safety features on Celerio much ahead of regulations."

Earlier, it was a common practice for the car brands to offer the safety features just in the top ranging variants. But, owing to the introduction of strict regulations by authorities (which are going to be even more strict in future), many companies have started to update their respective offerings with atleast dual front airbags. Till now, Maruti cars have always been considered very durable and economic and now with this safety addition, we expect that customers will find another logical reason to opt for a Maruti model over any other brand.
