If we will go ahead on the basis of the automobile market report, then the Maruti S-Cross might arrive in the Indian showrooms early in the next month. This vehicle will be available exclusively at the brand's new NEXA dealerships with the latest design philosophy. As we have already told you that the manufacturer has commenced the production for its S-Cross in Gurgaon plant, where it will be manufactured in two variants, DDiS 200 and DDiS 320. The localization level for both of these versions stand at 97 percent and 67 percent, respectively.
In India, Maruti won't introduce the petrol and automatic variants of this vehicle at least for now. The DDiS 220 will be powered by a 1.3 litre Multijet mill to make the outputs of 90 PS and 200 Nm. A 5-speed manual transmission will come mated to this engine in order to drive the wheels. On the other hand, paired to a 6-speed manual transmission, a 1.6 litre DdiS 320 engine will be capable of producing an impressive power of 120 PS and an excellent torque of 320 Nm.
Whereas the former one has been claimed to receive a maximum speed of 100 km/h from a standstill position in 13.2 seconds and will consume 1 litre of fuel to cover up the distance of 23.65 km/l, the latter will have an appreciable capacity to do the same in 11.3 seconds and it has been confirmed to return a fuel efficiency of 22.7 km/l.
