The Indo-Japanese auto major, Maruti Suzuki has released its annual report for the year of 2015-2016 explaining the company’s plan for the upcoming launches in the near future. The plan includes the major and minor updated versions of some current running models, as well as some fresh launches.
However, the automaker is still playing cards close to the chest when it comes to revealing the specific vehicle details. While Maruti Suzuki Ignis and Baleno RS will be the fresh launches, Maruti Suzuki Swift, Dzire and Ertiga will receive the generation update in next two years. More likely, Company may launch a facelift of its smart hybrid sedan, Ciaz next year.
The report further explains company’s effort in the direction of occupants safety as well as vehicle emission norms. Marti Suzuki is actively working on the upcoming as well as the current models in order to prepare them to meet the upcoming safety standards and the emission norms.
Although, most of the Maruti vehicles already meet BS4 emission standards. And to meet the safety standards of the Bharat NCAP that will come into effect from 2019, the airbags will be made optional/standard across the line-up.
More on the papers, Maruti Suzuki will also introduce several new platforms for its vehicles in the near future. Such platforms are being designed to minimise the overall weight of the vehicle and add some additional strength to protect the occupants. Therefore, the reduction in vehicle’s weight will surely bump the mileage figure. And the Baleno is the first to built upon such platform. Besides safety and vehicle strength, the company will also work on new designs for the vehicle’s interior and exteriors.
So, there is a lot on the papers that has to be worked out in the upcoming one or two years by Maruti Suzuki, as what report suggests. Though, it has to be seen yet that how much they worked out from it and how much stays on the papers for the next.
