The recently launched Maruti Baleno has gained much attraction in the Indian market as it has been kept in the premium hatchback category. Baleno is being produced solely by the Indian Carmaker without the assistance of Suzuki. According to the reports, the car has already crossed one lakh booking since its launch. This depicts the popularity of this hatchback in the Indian market. Maruti also exported a batch of Baleno to Japan as well. As of how, the price of the car has been raised for the second time. The major issue of raising the price may be the Infra cess as per the Union Budget of 2016. The base model that was available at Rs 4.99 lakh, now comes with a price tag of Rs 5.15 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi). The price hike can be witnessed by Rs 4,263 to Rs 16,699 across the variants.
Mechanically, Maruti Baleno comes powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine that generates peak power of 83 bhp, while the 1.3-litre diesel engine churns out about 75bhp of power and 190 Nm of peak torque. The diesel variant is available with a manual transmission option while the petrol variant comes mated an optional CVT transmission along with a standard 5-speed manual gearbox.
Across the major variants, Baleno offers some amazing and value added features such as push start and stop, keyless entry, and Apple’s CarPlay installed inside touchscreen system. As far as safety is concerned,the Baleno offers standard safety features like ABS and airbags plus reverse parking camera.

Baleno Zeta – Rs 6.41 lakh

Baleno Sigma – Rs 6.34 lakh
Baleno Delta – Rs 7.00 lakh
Baleno Zeta – Rs 7.61 lakh
Baleno Alpha – Rs 8.33 lakh.
The Baleno is the first ever premium hatchback from the Indian carmaker that comes with great build quality and body design. It offers impressive mileage and said to be reliable. Moreover, the price hike is marginal and seems like it won’t affect the sales of the vehicles.
