The next-generation Maruti Suzuki Ertiga has launched in India with BS-6 compliant engine. The pricing for the MPV starts at INR 7.55 lakh for the base LXi variant and goes up to INR 10.50 lakh for the ZXi automatic variant. In the Maruti Suzuki Indian lineup, the Ertiga is the fifth model to get updated with the BS-6 compliant engine post the Alto, Swift, Baleno and Wagon R.
Under the hood, the BS6-compliant Ertiga is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine. The motor is capable of churning out the maximum power of 105hp along with 138Nm of peak torque. The power transmission on this engine setup is managed by a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. However, the company also offers an option of a 4-speed torque-converter as well. The availability of Maruti’s SHVS technology ensures better fuel efficiency through the provided engine option.

For improvising the Ertiga powertrain with upcoming BS-6 emission raise the price of the MPV by INR 10,000 for the low-spec variant while for the top-spec variant the increased cost accounts INR 55,000. In the Maruti Suzuki lineup, it is one of the most selling cars and also gets indexed in the country’s top five bestselling UVs. With a total sale of 7,567 units, the MPV registered the fifth position in June 2019.
Besides the launch of BS-6 compliant 2019 Ertiga, the country has witnessed the launch of the CNG-powered Ertiga on July 27th, at INR 8.88 lakh. Other than this, the brand is all prepared to launch the Ertiga-based XL6 6-seater on August 21, 2019. It will be available to purchase at the brand’s premium dealership chain of Tata Nexa.
