Maruti Suzuki Ignis Launched in India; Price Starts at Rs. 4.59 Lakh

Welcome India's first subcompact urban crossover Maruti Suzuki Ignis, which is one of the highly anticipated car from the Indo-Japanese carmaker and will go on sale in India today. The car will be sold exclusively through company's premium dealership network, Nexa. The Ignis will lie somewhere between the Baleno and the Vitara Brezza, in the carmaker's present lineup in the subcompact vehicle segment.

Just for a reminder, the Maruti Suzuki Ignis is based on the car manufacturer's new generation platforms that's why the design is new and appealing. Talking about the powertrain, the all-new Maruti Suzuki Ignis shares its powertrain with the Baleno and the Swift hatchback. Therefore, you get both petrol and diesel engine options. While the petrol trim is powered by a 1.2-litre K-Series petrol motor and the diesel version gets 1.3-litre MultiJet engine. Interestingly, both the engines will come with the optional Automatic Gear Shift.

The company has kept the pricing of the Maruti Suzuki Ignis competitive, because of high levels of localisation - just similar to Baleno and the Vitara Brezza.
