According to a recent report, the enquires for the newly launched Maruti Vitara Brezza turned out to be overwhelming. The major demands are for the top variant- ZDi (O) and ZDi Plus, which have already been pushed to 9-month waiting period. While the base and mid level trims such as LDi, LDi (O), VDi and VDi (O) will be delivered after a period of seven months from now. The owners will receive their Vitara Brezza by the end of the this year.
The Vitara Brezza compact SUV made its debut on March 8 and hit the showrooms by the end of March. As the car has been priced competitively in the market, it gathered huge amount of enquiries and bookings eventually. It also made Renault to slash the price of the EcoSport by Rs 1 Lakh. The waiting period is said to be rising with time and it has been found that the automaker is finding it hard to deliver according to the time. As of now, the car has witnessed 50 percent growth in bookings.
As reported by the carmaker, the Current bookings for the Vitara Brezza in the delhi region is around 70,000 units with about 20,000 wholesale units. While March 2016 sales is around 5,563 units and the April 2016 sales figure rises to 7,832 units. The company is focused in the production of Baleno and Vitara Brezza in the local facility these days.
RS Kalsi, executive director (Marketing & Sales), Maruti Suzuki India, stated that, the compact SUV is manufactured at the Gurgaon plant. “The demand for the Vitara Brezza is more than we had expected and we are gradually ramping-up the production capacity for the SUV as a similar scale-up of capacity has to be taken up at the vendors’ end as well. It will take some time and should be completed in the second half of the year.”
Meanwhile, RC Bhargava, chairman, had also expressed his concern over the matter. He stated, “We had planned for around 100,000 units annually and are on track to reach that figure. For scaling-up, vendors also have to deliver at such short notice. If there are about 200 suppliers and even one or two don’t supply in time, production will be affected. Nowhere in the world are production schedules so flexible or resilient that they can make substantial increases within a short period.”
