Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe Expected to Launch in India by 2017

The German auto maker already has the biggest luxury car portfolio in the country, still the company has big plans for the Indian market to further expand its portfolio. In the previous year, Mercedes-Benz introduced 15 new models and has planned total 12 new launches for this year. For the year of 2017, company is likely to launch GLC Coupe in India.

The luxury car manufacturer has launched the GLC SUV in India at a price of INR 50.7 Lakh. The GLC Coupe is likely to have a slight premium over this standard SUV and could start at a price around INR 55.0 Lakh. The new GLC Coupe features both sensual design and powerful SUV performance.

Based on the GLC SUV, the new mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe shares the same design ideology upto the B-pillar, beyond this, the rooflines take a sloping downward path towards the rear which gives it Coupe characteristics. At the front, it gets a new steeply raked diamond radiator grille instead of the twin-slat grille. The large air dam at the front bumper, bigger alloy wheels, blackened side mirrors and four polished stainless-steel exhaust pipe add more sportiness to the overall stance of the vehicle.

Safety wise the GLC Coupe features 8-airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Downhill Speed Regulation (DSR) and Mercedes pre-safe system.

Under the hood, Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe is globally offered with 8 engine options including a hybrid and an AMG fettled V6 engines. As for Indian market, GLC Coupe is most likely to offer either the 220d or the 250d for the diesel variant. Both the diesel engine are mated to a 9-Speed automatic gearbox and capable of producing a maximum power output of 170 PS and 204 PS respectively. As far concern of petrol variant, the Coupe may offer 350e petrol hybrid as well.
