Mercedes Benz GLE Class Finally Launched in India

As scheduled, the luxury automaker Mercedes Benz has launched the GLE Class in India today at INR 58.90 Lacs. This newly launched car is all set to replace the M Class and contains many updated elements. There will be 2 variants available in the market- 250D and 350D, fitted with two diesel engine options. The model has entered Indian shores via CKD route, which are to be assembled in the company's production facility located in Chakan, Pune. This SUV looks stunning and houses many modern amenities inside.

From outside, the fascia is adorned with a newly designed two-slat chrome grille comprising the Mercedes logo at the centre. Further, the revamped bumper, LED headlights, LED tail lamps and sporty exhaust pipes are also found in the exteriors. Moving on to the interiors, there is a 3-spoke steering wheel, re-designed AC vents, and updated centre console highlighting new buttons. Occupants will also be able to avail the joy of a 7-inch COMMAND infotainment facility. Other features include Wi-Fi hotspot, three-zone climate control, 360 Camera and Active Parking Assist.

Regarding the powertrain, customers will have two choices in diesel motors with varying outputs. The 250D is powered by a 2.2 litre unit that makes 204Bhp power alongside 500Nm of torque. Talking about the 350D variant, it will be packed with a V6 unit that develops 258Bhp and 620Nm of maximum output. Transmission in both will be managed by a 9-speed automatic gearbox, developed by Mrecedes Benz. It can also be run on different driving modes namely Comfort, Sport, Slippery, individual and off-road. This facility is not present in the outgoing M-Class model.
