Mercedes-Benz India launched CLS petrol model in the country last year with a 3.5 Litre engine and now company has planned to launch the diesel variant of the car. The date hasn't been decided yet, but it would be launched sometime in the middle of the year as Mercedes-Benz has already made plans to launch CLA sedan in the month of January and new C-Class in the 1st quarter of the year. This new 2.2 Litre CLS 250 CDI will replace the currently outgoing petrol model and hence making it a bit cheaper and fuel-efficient as well. The car will get a few tweaks as well in interiors and exteriors, making it even more techy to use.
The 2.2 Litre 250 CDI engine will be producing 201 HP power and 500 Nm torque with all the power sent to its rear wheels using its 7G Tronic Plus automatic transmission system. Mentioning features, the diesel facelift will get the 3D instrument cluster, Harman Kardon Logic 7 Audio System and elegant lighting as well. On the exteriors, it'll get the bold front fascia, new grille, re-designed headlamps, petal shaped tail lights and much more.
The car price has also not been decided yet, alike its launch date, but it's very much sure that it'll get at least 3-4 months to Mercedes-Benz to launch it in India. Also, the pricing would also be less than the current model as the engine has been turned down.
