Mercedes Benz has finally revealed the GLS Class SUV that will be introduced as the successor of the existing GL Class. It is going to be a top of the line model and will have a seven-seat configuration. Much like all other Mercedes cars, this one will also house world class equipments and modern facilities from exterior to interior. After the launch, there will possibly be an interesting face off between GLS and the Range Rover Series. The launch date has not been revealed yet, but is likely to come out soon. Talking about the cosmetic features, it will receive a revamped two-slat grille, re-styled bumpers, a larger company logo on the fascia and a set of all new alloys. The cabin will boast of advanced amenities in the form of a multi-functional steering and a hi-tech infotainment system. Unlike the existing GL Class with five-mode driving system, the GLS comes with a 6-mode facility including modes namely Individual, Comfort, Slippery, Sport, Off-Road and Off-Road Plus.
Mechanically, the lineup will consist of three engine options including a 3 litre V6, 4.7 litre and a 5.5 litre petrol motor. The first one will pump out 328Bhp, second one will make 449Bhp, while the third one with twin turbocharged unit will churn out 557Bhp of maximum power. Moving on, the diesel mill will be packed with a 3 litre, V6 engine that can efficiently develop maximum output of 255Bhp/617Nm. The 9-speed automatic transmission facility that is offered in the global market might also make its way to the Indian market.
