One of the largest and well-known Japanese automotive manufacturers, Mitsubishi, has divulged the images of its next SUV concept in line, the GT PHEV. Speaking about the grand debut, Mitsi’s new model will pace its way to the audience at the upcoming 2016 Paris Motor Show. Billed as the carmaker’s ‘next generation SUV', the announced concept features a signature hybrid system, using three motors.
In contrast to the current variant, the hybrid-powered model gets incorporated with the next-generation technology and packed up with an advanced battery system. The total range is 10 times more than the electric-only range of 120km, claimed by the automaker. Forget about the mechanical stuff, the high-end SUV certainly beats the current version with peculiar yet classy visuals as well.
Mitsubishi justifies the name ‘Ground Tourer’ by focussing the car’s versatility to tackle every terrain and travel miles with a great ease. Obviously it’s not a Land Rover, still, manages to impart a good off-road ride, which naturally means the car is all-wheel drive. Other than this, the Japanese firm has also showcased its connective technology via which the route information like weather and terrain data can be fed manually to the car’s system.

Another highlighting factor perceived from the images is the patented ‘dynamic shield’ front, which is the replica of the previous models. Interior-wise, the pictures seem to be quite vague and hence anything additional apart from the burgundy leather trims matching the roof of the car and cocooning dashboard can not be said on a confirm note. However, the interior trim has been remarked higher in terms of quality than the ongoing model.
The model could make its way to become Mitsubishi’s next flagship owing to the “high-end, next-generation SUV” described by the car maker. As the Paris Motor Show is coming closer, many of the other details might be manifested by the automaker at that time. For now, the Mitsubishi’s eX concept will also be showcased along with the latest versions of the Outlander and the Outlander PHEV, which will sit parallel to the car in question at the show.
