More Powerful 2017 Honda CBR650F is Expected to be Introduced Within Two Months in India

The Wild Does Not Always Scream”. The tagline by Honda suits perfectly on its all-new CBR650F, which makes it relevant to its lower exhaust sound. The beast has already been showcased at last year’s EICMA along with the naked CB650F underpinned with some major updates, which makes it look a bit more sharper. More importantly, the newly revamped beast is now blessed with more powerful engine along with some wonderful mechanical changes.

Concerning the engine specs, the 2017 CBR650F is powered by a 649cc four cylinder motor and includes a new intake and exhaust. Shorter air intake funnels are linked with four 32 mm throttle bores from a down-flow airbox, which draws itself from larger intake ducts. In return, the right side-swept 4-1 exhaust employs a dual-pass internal structure in the muffler, which reduces back pressure. Moreover, it is also blessed with a larger final exit aperture.

The new CBR650F also features shorter 2nd to 5th gear ratio, which helps the beast to pull the line faster than the current version. According to Honda, the new version will pull out 3 bike lengths over 400 m in the case of a 60 kmph second gear roll-on. Furthermore, the maximum power output of the new offering has been increased from 86.47 PS to 91 PS at 11,000 rpm. The company says that the change will be noticeable from 5,000 rpm and up. The peak torque output of the bike has also been increased from 62.9 Nm to 64 Nm at 8000 rpm.

Talking about the body, its chassis is now stiffer around the headstock and a bit more flexible in the spar section. Apart from it, the CBR650F now packs new 41mm Showa dual bending front forks, whereas, at the rear side, it features the same mono shock with 7 preloads. The company has revised the two-piston Nissin front callipers for improved braking.

The new sports bike of the company also gets LEDs in headlamp console, which is supposed to be a great move, still, the instrumental panel of the bike remains untouched. Honda is currently talking a lot about the auditory pleasure. So, will this beast unleashed by the company scream this time…..?

Honda has currently stopped the sale and cleared the inventory of the current-gen CBR650F in India for the time being. According to a report by Overdrive, the new offering will soon make its way to the Indian market, and is expected to be launched here as early as June 2017!
