The iconic two-wheeler manufacturer from Italy, MV Agusta is all set to introduce a new player in India in 2018. Termed as Turismo Veloce, the motorcycle will be the first sports tourer in the company’s product portfolio and is likely to land on Indian soil anytime by the first half of 2018.
In India, the Kinetic-owned Motoroyale brand takes care the retail of MV Agusta products. And currently, the outlet is showcasing products including the F4, Brutale 1090, F3, and the Brutale 800 is proposed to join their sibling soon. And with the addition of the Turismo Veloce, which is according to the Giovanni Castliglioni’s is the bravest motorcycle ever made by MV Agusta, will make the products count five in Indian lineup.
Firstly unveiled at the 2013 EICMA motorcycle show in Italy, the sports tourer MV Turismo Veloce draws styling and detailing from their siblings such as the MV Agusta F4 and F3. if consider decorative attributes of the sports tourer, it will carry forward the brand’s iconic diamond shaped headlight, but with LED DRLs. An adjustable large windscreen, which can be shifted 60mm will also be there to protect the rider from the wind blast at higher speeds. Also, the bike is furnished with an astonishing fuel tank with a 22-litre capacity, which has wisely been chiseled to offer outstanding grip to rider’s thighs and to incorporate quarter fairing for its beautification. Besides, the Turismo Veloce features list also comprises quadrangular-shaped triple exhaust mufflers, single-sided swingarm, multi-spoke alloy wheels and really important digital instrument cluster with a 5-inch colour display, which offers Bluetooth connectivity along with two USB sockets and two 12V power points.
Mechanically, the MV Turismo Veloce comes equipped with the same 798cc, three-cylinder powerplant of the Brutale 800. The mill is liable to generate whopping power of 110 PS at 10,150rpm along with 80Nm peak torque at 7,100 rpm. All the produced power will be dispatched to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox, in association with the bi-directional quick shifter.

To offer a better control on the bike, the legendary Italian marque embellished the Turismo Veloce with a basket full of electronics. It has eight-level traction control system, ride-by-wire throttle control, and four rider modes. Developed on a tubular trellis frame, the upcoming sports tourer get suspended on Marzocchi USD front forks and an adjustable rear mono shock. While braking will come from disc brakes on both wheels incorporated with Bosch 9 Plus ABS system along with RLM (Rear wheel Lift-up Mitigation).
In terms of fuel efficiency, the Italian manufacturer claims an excellent mileage of 17.2kmpl for this 191 kg (dry weight) heavier sports tourer. In India, likely to go in competition with the rivals such as the Ducati Multistrada 950, Suzuki V-Strom, Kawasaki Ninja 1000 and Triumph Tiger XRx, the MV Agusta Turismo Veloce will carry a price tag of Rs 17 lakh(approx).
