Ferrari is one of the best-known sports car manufacturers all across the globe. This Italian designer has well-developed prominence in making luxury and sports car. The company has made its own mark in producing Formula One Racing cars. The automotive industry was being founded in the year 1947 and headquartered in Maranello, Italy. The Ferrari products have been known for their luxurious style and high speed.
However, this is not the first time; the Italian Supercar manufacturer has submitted an application, which showcases a V-Twin engine. Probably, the company would be using the very same motor in a motorcycle. Well, a rough idea can be explored from the sketch, the company has submitted along with an application. The patent sketch has showcased an Internal combustion engine carrying a V configuration cylinders. The company has added many new features replacing the old equipments, such as the motorcycle will be receiving 'balancing masses' incorporated with crank shaft, replacing the balancing shafts. This will help in reducing weight of the motorcycle.
The application which has been submitted by Ferrari features a new name 'Cavallino', supposedly to be given to the upcoming motorcycle. However, everything is uncertain till the company will open the doors for us to get the complete detail of the upcoming motorcycle.
Till now, there is only one existing Ferrari motorcycle, which was engineered by David Kay Engineering. The motorcycle was featuring an in-line, four-cylinder engine with an engine displacement of 900cc, generating a total power of 105BHP. The motorcycle's body was made up of aluminum and the company has especially granted permission to the David-Kay engineers to use their patent logo of Ferrari to badge over the motorcycle.
