The latest Fiat 500X compact crossover has been launched in South Africa in total five variants with the name 500X 1.6 Pop Star, 1.4 Cross, 500X 1.4 Cross automatic, 500X 1.4 Cross Plus and 500X 1.4 Cross Plus automatic. All of these versions get the price tags of R310,900, R344,900, R359,900, R379,900 and R394,900, respectively. Unveiled at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, this vehicle will be available with the Fiat 500L, 500C and the standard 500 models locally. Its design philosophy is somehow familiar as the compact crossover has been inspired by the standard 500 hatchback.
The skid guards, roof rails, subtle body cladding and the drastic suspension with enhanced ground clearance are adequate in making this vehicle capable to render a stiff appearance for the customers. Dimension wise, the Fiat 500X is 4,250 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width, 1,610 mm in height and has the boot space of 245 litre. Coming to the outside, the car is available in 7 color options with 17 or 18 inch alloy wheels.
Inside, there are appreciable equipments, such as 5 inch Uconnect infotainment system comprising voice command function, bluetooth connectivity, ports for AUX and USB. Safety features are packed in a bundle, including six airbags, amazing ESC system, LED DRLs and cornering fog lamps as well as a few optional equipments stand as a Lane Assist system and Blind Spot Assist.
Mechanically, The 500X is powered by a 1.4 litre turbo MultAir ll and a 1.6 litre E-TorQ engines, producing 138 hp and 108.5 hp of outputs, respectively. The mills are mated to a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual and 6-speed dual clutch transmissions.
