Fully-Faired Honda CB Hornet 160R May Launch at Auto Expo 2018

The Indian arm of the Japanese automaker, Honda is preparing a new full-faired Honda CB Hornet 160R that is likely to be launched at the Auto Expo 2018. How will the bike look is questionable? Though, a digital image of the motorcycle is released by the IndianAutosBlog. The chances are the bike could share visual aspects as of the rendered image.

If the full-faired bike segment is considered, Suzuki Gixxer SF is the most accessible motorcycle available in the genre. It is priced at INR 90,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). As the Gixxer SF shares its platform with the naked Gixxer 155, the similar thing the Honda wanted from the full faired Honda CB Hornet 160R. Expectations are this upcoming motorcycle will be introduced in the current portfolio at the price of around INR 95,000 (ex-showroom).

In terms of power, the similar 62.71cc single-cylinder engine from regular Honda CB Hornet 160R will do the propelling duties. The engine is capable of generating the peak power of 5.04 BHP at 8500 rpm along with 14.76 Nm at 6500 rpm in association with a 5-speed gearbox transmission. Other than this, the fully digital instrument cluster from the naked CB Hornet model could also be a shared unit on this upcoming faired one.

Moreover, the CBR models such as the CBR150R and the CBR250R were discontinued by the company earlier this year. As per some reports, the CBR150R launch is plausible at the Auto Expo 2018 while the brand could bring a new Honda CBR300R model to supersede the CBR250R from the lineup. As of now, the CBR650F is entry level sports bike from the brand so it will be good to introduce at least one entry-level CBR to cover that bigger displacement space market.

If the new CBR models will hit the Indian shores in future, they will be in the international design language with the new range of colours for a refreshing appeal. Honda fans for the CBR bikes must be expecting their arrival at this Auto Expo. if the brand misses out on them, it will not only be the greater disappointment for the audience but also for the bike maker too as the market witnessing the rise in sales of higher capacity motorcycles and the brand did not have any bike in the price range of INR 90,000 to INR 5 lakh.
